Things Change

(John Shoemaker)
I have a deep respect for this world and the life forms, human and otherwise, that call it home. Many tragedies have occured in the process of developing our modern way of life. Perhaps it is a important thing to reflect on that from time to time, especially considering that we seem to have many lessons still to learn in this regard.

Lyrics:

Things change and so do we
A wise man can turn deranged, a desert can become a sea
It takes a long time to grow an old growth redwood tree
Just a short time ago there was a different geography

Chorus:
There was a plain of Lakota Sioux
A coastline of Eskimo
Rivers of Caribou
An ocean of Buffalo

But things change as you move on down the road
You gotta rearrange as you add to the load
But the sparrow don’t forget to sing and the wind will always sound the chimes
There’s a few important things we should remember for a long, long time

(Repeat chorus to end)
